Laura Alice Hoople Gelly

February 15, 1950 - February 19, 2025

LAURA ALICE HOOPLE GELLY, age 75, of Winchester, Tenn., formerly of Otway, Ohio, departed this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at her residence with her loving family at her side.  She was born in Otway, Ohio on February 15, 1950, to the late Harry Sherlock Hoople and Norma Lillian Rhoden Hoople.  She was a member of the Owens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester.  Mrs. Gelly was employed for a propane gas company in the administrative department for several years when she was younger.  Mrs. Gelly was an avid reader, she enjoyed doing charitable work and most importantly she loved her church and baking bread pudding.  She enjoyed decorating her home.  Most of her past 15 years were spent caring for her husband, Joseph.  Her wishes were to be remembered as she was in each persons fondest memory.  She has not left this earth as long as she has grandchildren and other generations to follow.  Most of all she will be remembered for loving to always do for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Peter Gelly that passed away on January 30, brothers; Wayne and Harry Lee Hoople.

She is survived by her children; Tammy Porto and husband, James of Chittenango, NY, Greg De Los Santos and wife, Katie of Marysville, NY and Angela Carlton and husband, Mitch of Billings, MT.  Several grandchildren.

It was Mrs. Gelly's wishes that there be no services.
